These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan is a story has stayed with me since I first read it about 3 years ago. This book remains one of my favorites, and I find myself thinking about it often. If you haven’t picked it up yet, you’re in for a treat.
This book blends the best elements of fantasy and romance in a way that’s both captivating and emotionally gripping. The story follows Brie, a girl who hates the Fae but finds herself in their world when her sister is sold to the king of the Unseelie court. To save her sister, Brie must strike a dangerous deal with the Unseelie king, involving the theft of three magical relics from the rival Seelie court.
One of the major highlights of These Hollow Vows is its complex character building. Brie is a female main character that you’ll root for, she is likable, strong-willed and tough. She gets herself into a very flirty love triangle with two faes from rival courts. The Love Triangle is easily one of my favorite parts, Lexi Ryan does an amazing job drawing it out and it feels very well done. It did not come off as too drawn out or upsetting. The romance involves some spice and wraps up perfectly at the end of book two.
The duology aspect of the book is a huge plus. It’s great knowing that both parts of the story are already available, so you can dive straight into the second book without waiting. And if you’re like me and enjoyed this book, you’ll be thrilled to know that Lexi Ryan has very recently released another book set in the same world!
