My Favorite Cowboy Romance Series!
If there's one romance subgenre that always ropes me in, it's cowboy romances. There’s just something special about wide-open skies, small-town drama, and brooding cowboys who fall hard. Whether it's a Christmas novella or a full-length series that spans a family of ranchers, cowboy romances bring a cozy, emotional vibe I keep coming back to.
So today, I’m sharing some of my all-time favorite cowboy romance series, a few hot new releases, and some buzzworthy reads I haven’t picked up yet but can’t wait to dive into.
1. Chestnut Springs Series by Elsie Silver
Books: Flawless, Heartless, Powerless, Reckless, Hopeless
This is the cowboy romance series that took BookTok by storm, and for good reason. Each book centers on the charming but chaotic Eaton family and delivers its own unique emotional punch. You’ll get everything from hockey players to bull riders, single dads to sunshine/grumpy tropes. My favorite book of the series is Heartless. But, if you’re new to cowboy romance, Flawless is the perfect place to start!
2. Wells Ranch Series by Bailey Hannah
Books: Alive and Wells, Seeing Red, Change of Hart (Coming May 27, 2025)
This series feels like a warm blanket. It’s full of family dynamics, smart heroines, and cowboys who learn to open their hearts. I had the chance to read an ARC of Change of Hart, and it is very good. This series mixes emotional depth with genuine charm and has top tier banter, found family, and rugged cowboys.
3. Rebel Blue Ranch Series by Lyla Sage
Books: Done and Dusted, Swift and Saddled, Lost and Lassoed, Wild and Wrangled
This series just released its final book, and I am so sad to say goodbye. I read the first book when it first came out on Kindle Unlimited, but a publisher quickly picked it up and it took the book world by storm. It has everything you’d want in a cowboy romance and each book helps hit all the tropes. My favorite was Swift and Saddled.
4. Silver Pines Series by Paisley Hope
Books: Holding the Reins, Training the Heart, Riding the High, Freeing the Wild (Coming November 2025)
The Silver Pines series leans wholesome and heartfelt while still bringing the heat. Set in a small-town ranching community, these stories explore healing, hope, and finding love where you least expect it.
5. Big Nick Energy by Morgan Elizabeth (Standalone)
While this is not part of a series or even a full-length book, I had to include it. It’s one of my favorite Christmas time reads, and one of the few books I have read multiple times. It’s a spicy, feel-good cowboy Christmas novella with a grumpy/sunshine dynamic and small-town vibes. Perfect for curling up with during the holiday season.
On My TBR:
I haven’t read these yet, but they come highly recommended:
Lucky River Ranch Series by Jessica Peterson – Emotional, romantic, and filled with cowboy goodness. Reviewers are raving about the strong heroines and heartfelt stories.
The Edens Series by Devney Perry – Not every Eden sibling is a cowboy, but this Montana-set series has serious cowboy-core energy. If you love small towns and emotional slow burns, this one is calling your name.
Rosewood Ranch Series by Alexandra Banks – Family drama, steamy moments, and strong ranch vibes. The buzz around this one is building, and I’m excited to jump in.
