I hope you’re all doing well! I wanted to take a moment to catch you up on where I’ve been these past couple of months.

I decided to take a little break from the blog to explore some new hobbies and spend time getting to know myself outside of how many books I can read. As much as I love reading (obviously), it felt really good to step back and try something different for a bit.

So, what have I been up to?

I’ve really been leaning into my creative side lately. I picked up crochet, and I’m kind of obsessed. I’ve been making the cutest little plushies, and there’s something so calming about it. The repetitive motion is weirdly soothing, it honestly feels like a form of meditation, but with yarn.

I also fell down the rabbit hole of junk journaling. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s basically a mix of art and memory keeping where you use things like old book pages, paper scraps, stickers, and random bits to create something completely your own. I’ve loved collecting little pieces here and there and turning them into colorful, chaotic pages. It’s been such a fun creative outlet.

One of the highlights of my break was joining a traveling journal group, which has been such a cool experience. The journal is made up of fellow book influencers who I met on Instagram. We pass a journal around, each person adding their own take on a theme, question or random page. It’s been so fun seeing how different everyone’s styles are, and it’s made me feel really connected to a creative, bookish community in a new way.

I’ve also gone to a few local junk journal meetups, which has been so inspiring. There’s something really special about being around people who enjoy the same things as you and are so kind and helpful.

Overall, this little hiatus ended up being exactly what I needed. It gave me space to recharge, try new things, and come back feeling more inspired than ever.

Thank you for sticking around while I was away, I really do appreciate it. I’m so excited to be back and to start sharing more again, both bookish content and a little bit of these new creative adventures too.
