5 Stars – Amazing, Life-Changing
A 5-star read isn’t just good—it’s unforgettable. These are the books that leave me in a daze long after I’ve turned the last page. They resonate on a deeper level, making me think, feel, or see the world differently. It’s rare for me to hand out this rating—only about 1 in every 10 books gets the coveted 5 stars. But when it happens, you know it’s something special.
4 Stars – Really Good, But Not Quite Perfect
A 4-star book is solid. It’s engaging, well-written, and worth recommending. I genuinely enjoyed it and might even revisit it someday. But it just didn’t hit that next level for me. Maybe it lacked the emotional punch or the storyline wasn’t groundbreaking. Whatever the reason, it was great... just not life-changing.
3 Stars – Good and Recommendable
If a book gets 3 stars, it means I liked it. It was enjoyable, and I’d recommend it to others. It might not have blown me away, but it was definitely worth the read. Think of this as my baseline for a good book—it did its job, and I walked away satisfied.
2 Stars – Bad but Readable
I finished it, but I didn’t love it. Maybe the plot was weak, the characters were underdeveloped, or the writing style wasn’t my cup of tea. Regardless, it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t terrible enough to make me stop reading. It’s the kind of book I might rant about to friends but not passionately hate.
1 Star – Terrible
Harsh? Maybe. But a 1-star rating means I genuinely disliked it. Whether it was the writing, the plot, or problematic elements, it left a bad taste in my mouth. These are rare because I usually DNF (Did Not Finish) books that are this bad, but if I do make it through, you’ll know it was a struggle.
