TikTok Trends as a Blog

Hello, book lovers! Today, I’m diving into some fun book trends I’ve seen floating around TikTok, and I can’t wait to share my thoughts! To Start: You said normal girls were boring, but you were gone when you saw my 132 physical tbr pile…

3 Books That Live Up to the Hype

We all know how important it is for a booktok book to meet expectations. Here are three books that truly live up to the hype they get on TikTok:

  1. Fourth Wing - This book has taken the book community by storm for a reason! The world-building and characters are simply unforgettable.

  2. A Court of Thorns and Roses - A “back into reading” classic for a reason! The blend of romance, adventure, and fantasy keeps readers hooked from start to finish.

  3. Book Lovers - Emily Henry has a knack for writing relatable characters and clever plots. This one is a must-read for romance and book lovers ;)

3 Books That Didn’t Live Up to the Hype

On the flip side, here are three books that, in my opinion, didn’t quite hit the mark:

  1. Twisted Love - I had high hopes for this one, but the romance did not hit and the book felt too try hard. I gave it two stars.

  2. The Song of Achilles - While beautifully written, I found it didn’t capture my interest as much as I wanted it to. I ended up DNFing it to the dismay of many of my friends.

  3. Shadow and Bone - I know Leigh Bardugo is on a lot of people’s auto-buy list, but I struggled to get through this series. I felt it was too slow. I am hoping I enjoy Six of Crows more.

3 Books That Deserve More Hype

Now, let’s shine a spotlight on some hidden gems that I think deserve more recognition:

  1. Just Another Missing Person - This gripping mystery weaves together suspense and emotional depth, and has a twist that left my jaw on the floor.

  2. The Shadows Between Us - This book has simple world building that adds to its cozy romantic fantasy vibe.

  3. These Hollow Vows - With its blend of magic, betrayal, and romance, this book is amazing. It is also a duology with the second book already out!
