Aardvark Books: My Honest Take

If you know me, you know I love discovering new books, and I’m always interested in subscription services that make it a little more fun.
Because I was trying Aardvark for the first time as a free treat from them, they picked the books in my box based off my favorite genres.

I am so excited to dive into these and so grateful to Aardvark for sending them my way. Here is what you need to know if you are interested in Aardvark books:
Normally, you pick your own books. Each month, Aardvark announces a few new selections and, leading up to the first of the month, drops fun clues about what they are, which makes it feel like a mini bookish scavenger hunt. Once the books for that month are revealed, you choose the one you want for $17.99 (shipping included). You can also add up to two extra books from any past month for $9.99 each, which I think is a great deal if you want to catch up on titles you missed.
I’m planning to sign up for August’s box on the first of the month. I plan to add two books from past months, House of Beth and Death of the Author, since they sound right up my alley. I love that they give you a bit of time to guess what’s coming, confirms the books and then give you the whole month to decide for yourself what books you want to get. You can always skip a month and make no payment (must skip by the 15th, and it applies to the next month), or you can pay and get a credit to use in the future. This makes it so there is no surprises you’re stuck with if you’re picky about your TBR.
